![]() Monarchs’ Lee selected USA South Player of the Week Junior guard becomes first Monarch to receive weekly conference honor this season FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – For the first time this season, the Methodist Monarchs received a weekly honor for men’s basketball for the USA South Athletic Conference. Guard Robert Lee was honored on Monday as the USA South Player of the Week. Lee, a 6-foot junior from Spring Lake, N.C., had two tremendous games last week as Methodist opened USA South play with two victories. He scored 14 points in Wednesday’s 72-68 victory at Greensboro, followed by 20 points on 4-for-6 shooting from 3-point range in Saturday’s 78-64 victory against Ferrum. For the season, Lee is averaging 10 points and two rebounds a game, while shooting 41 percent from 3-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line. Methodist (4-9, 2-0 USA South) plays host to Averett on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Riddle Center in a battle for first place in the USA South. |
