November 20, 2007 Senior Billy McDade was the first to score for Methodist that sparked a 10 point run, closing the gap to 13-10 Lynchburg with 11:49 to go in the half. A 3-pointer from McDade gave Methodist their first lead at 21-20 with less than six, but the teams exchanged baskets with the Hornets taking a two point lead at halftime. Lynchburg held onto their lead early in the second half before a layup by freshman LeuMichael Smith gave Methodist the lead for good with 7:35 on the clock. Lynchburg came within one point on three different occasions, but the Monarchs responded each time. McDade finished with 26 points while junior Antwin Shuford scored 14 points with 7 rebounds. Smith also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points on the night. The Monarchs will travel to Apprentice on Saturday for a 2 pm tipoff. |
