Monarchs Come From Behind Against Lynchburg to Win 67-63
Junior Antwin Shuford scores 14 points with 7 rebounds

LYNCHBURG, VA- Lynchburg College scored the first 13 points of the game before Methodist scored nearly six minutes into the first half. The Monarchs overcame the deficit and went on to win 67-63. Methodist improves to 2-1 this season while Lynchburg falls to 0-2.

Senior Billy McDade was the first to score for Methodist that sparked a 10 point run, closing the gap to 13-10 Lynchburg with 11:49 to go in the half. A 3-pointer from McDade gave Methodist their first lead at 21-20 with less than six, but the teams exchanged baskets with the Hornets taking a two point lead at halftime.

Lynchburg held onto their lead early in the second half before a layup by freshman LeuMichael Smith gave Methodist the lead for good with 7:35 on the clock. Lynchburg came within one point on three different occasions, but the Monarchs responded each time.

McDade finished with 26 points while junior Antwin Shuford scored 14 points with 7 rebounds. Smith also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points on the night.

The Monarchs will travel to Apprentice on Saturday for a 2 pm tipoff.
