Monarchs Win 64-50 Over Rutgers-Camden
Junior A.B. Lehmann led the team with 15 points

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - The Monarchs opened the 2007-08 season with a 64-50 win over Rutgers-Camden in the first day of the Days Inn East Blue Jay Classic at Elizabethtown College. After a tied game at halftime, Methodist pulled away in the second half to win by 14.

Methodist took a 10 point lead in the first half, but Rutgers-Camden came back to tie the game at 27 going into halftime. The Monarchs started the second half on a 16-5 rally to take an 11 point lead with 14:21 to go in the half. The Monarchs maintained their lead and went on to win by 14.

Junior A.B. Lehmann led Methodist in scoring with 15 points. Senior Billy McDade scored 13 points while junior Travis McBryde finished with 10 points. Junior Antwin Shuford had eight rebounds in the win.

The Monarchs will Elizabethtown College on Saturday at 3 pm.
