March 7, 2007 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The USA South has announced their athletes of the week. The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week. Nick Bova has been chosen as the USA South Golfer of the Week. The senior from Bloomington, Illinois has competed in two tournaments to open the season. In the spring season opener at the Mid-Pines Tournament in Southern Pines, NC, Bova finished second with an even-par 144. Bova's total helped lead the Monarchs to a first place finish overall at the tournament. At the Callaway Invitational in Pine Mountain, GA, Bova tied for 18th by shooting an eight-over par 152. His effort helped the Monarchs to a third place finish overall and a first place finish among Division-III teams in the event. Freshman Josh Schrader has been chosen as the USA South Rookie Golfer of the Week. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Schrader has competed in two tournaments to open the season. In the spring season opener at the Mid-Pines Tournament in Southern Pines, NC, Schrader finished tied for fourth with a one-over par 145. Schrader's total helped the Monarchs to a first place finish overall at the tournament. At the Callaway Invitational in Pine Mountain, GA, Schrader tied for 29th by shooting a ten-over par 154. His effort helped the Monarchs to a third place finish overall and a first place finish among Division-III teams in the event.
