March 28, 2007 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The USA South has announced their athletes of the week. The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week. Nick Bova has been chosen as the USA South Golfer of the Week. The senior from Bloomington, Illinois competed in the Jekyll Island Invitational on March 23-25. Bova helped lead the Monarchs to a first-place finish by placing second in the three-day event. Bova opened the tournament by shooting a tournament-low three-under 69. He then followed with a par-72 in round two and a one-over 73 in the final round. Bova finished with a two-under 214, just one stroke off the leader. Jake Pleczkowski has been chosen as the USA South Rookie Golfer of the Week. The sophomore, competing in his first season of collegiate golf, from Valencia, Pennsylvania competed in the Jekyll Island Invitational on March 23-25. Pleczkowski helped the Monarchs to a first-place finish by placing in a fourth-place tie in the three-day event. Pleczkowski opened the tournament by shooting one-under 71's on day one and day two.
