March 6, 2007 PINE MOUNTAIN, GA- The Methodist men's golf team finished in third place amongst 17 teams at the Callaway Invitational on Tuesday. Freshman Josh Speight played well on day two to lead the Monarchs with a score of 149 (78-71). Central Alabama won the tournament with a 595 while Darton College had a 597 and the Monarchs finished with a 603. Central Alabama's Brett Willis led the field with a 143 (70-73). To round out the Monarchs' senior Josh Hart shot a 150 (72-78) and senior Nick Bova shot a 152 (74-78). Freshman Josh Schrader scored 154 (77-77) and sophomore Matt Bova scored a 156 (80-76). The Monarchs will compete at the Jekyll Island Invitational from March 23-25. |
