![]() Monarchs finish third at Callaway Collegiate with a 607 Horton, Schneider post top Methodist scores at 151 CALLAWAY GARDENS, Ga. – After finishing the first round in second place on Monday, the Methodist Monarch men’s golf team slipped to a final finish of third on Tuesday at the Callaway Collegiate at Callaway Gardens. Methodist shot a second round score of 306 to finish third with a 607. The Monarchs, the second-ranked team in Division III, finished 11 strokes behind Huntingdon and 13 strokes behind winner Oglethorpe. Methodist was one stroke ahead of Texas Lutheran and 12 strokes in front of Emory. Rounding out the Top 10 included Rhodes (621), Central Alabama Community College (622), LaGrange (625), Mary Hardin-Baylor (628) and California Lutheran (630). There were 16 teams in the field on the Par-72, 7,020-yard course. Individually, Adam Horton (78-73) and Cory Schneider (72-79) both shot 151 for the top scores for Methodist. Nick Bova was next with a 152 (72-80), followed Justin Tulk with a 154 (75-79) and Brian Gussis with 158 (79-79). Methodist’s next tournament is the Jekyll Island Invitational on Mar. 24-26. |
