Former Monarch Qualifies for 2008 PGA Championship
Eric Dugas tied for sixth at the PGA Club Professional National Championship

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Former Methodist men's golfer, Eric Dugas, competed in the PGA Club Professional National Championship last weekend in Greensboro, Ga. A 2005 graduate, Dugas' tie for sixth place earned him a spot in the 2008 PGA Championship this August at Oakland Hills in Michigan.

Dugas opened the event with a 3-under-par 69 and shot a hole in one during the second round. He finished the four round event with a score of 282, six strokes behind the leader. Dugas was the 2005 USA South Athletic Conference Player of the Year after averaging 74.44 on the year. He is the second former Monarch to play in a major PGA event after Chad Collins competed at the 2006 U.S. Open at Winged Foot.
