Monarch men win Emory Invitational
Nick Bova records his first collegiate win

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA – The Methodist men's golf team ended the regular season on a great note with a win at the Emory Invitational at Smoke Rise Golf and Country Club (Par 72- 6,852 yds) in Stone Mountain, GA.  Methodist shot a 590 to win their fourth tournament of the 2005-06 season.  Rounding out the top ten is Oglethorpe (592), Guilford (593), Emory (605), Huntingdon (607), Rhodes (618), Washington and Lee (627), Christopher Newport (630), Skidmore (633), and LaGrange (634).  

Nick Bova, shot a two under par 142 (72-70) to take home his first tournament title as a collegiate golfer.  Finishing in second was Taylor Urbanski from Oglethorpe (145).  Two Methodist golfers, Adam Horton and Cory Schneider, finished third with 147.  Other Methodist scores include Matt Bova 154, and Brant Dixon 161.

Methodist will travel to Burlington, NC to compete in the USA South Conference Tournament at the Stony Creek Golf Club.

The final round concludes on Monday.
