![]() Monarchs fourth after first round of Greensboro Invitational WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Methodist Monarch men’s golf team is currently fourth following the first round of the Greensboro Invitational on Monday at Meadowlands Golf Course. The Monarchs, ranked second in the most recent Division III Top 25 poll, fired a 302 in Monday’s round, which was mired by harsh weather conditions and delayed for two hours. The Monarchs are seeking their third straight Greensboro Invitational championship. Huntingdon holds a three-stroke lead with a 294 after the first round. Guilford is second with a 297, followed by Greensboro with a 301. Rounding out the Top Five is Oglethorpe with a 304. Individually for Methodist, Nick Bova shot a 74, followed by Brant Dixon with a 75 and John Duckworth with a 76. Cory Schneider, who won the Tom O’Briant Invitational two weeks ago, shot a 77, while Adam Horton shot an 81. The second and final round of the Greensboro Invitational is set for Tuesday at Meadowlands Golf Course. |
