The Methodist University men's golf team has a long and storied tradition of excellence. The Monarchs have made 28 consecutive appearances in the NCAA Division III National Championships. The Monarchs have finished in the nation's top five 20 times in the last 21 years. During that time, the Monarchs won nine NCAA Division III National Championships, including six consecutive championships from 1994-99, the most of any Division III school.

Methodist has produced nine NCAA Division III Individual National Champions since 1989. In addition, 79 Monarch golfers have been tabbed as Golf Coaches Association of America All-Americans since 1980 and 12 have been named as GCAA Academic All-Americans.

The Monarchs also have a total of 26 Dixie Intercollegiate and USA South Athletic Conference championships, including a streak of nine consecutive from 1993 to 2001. Additionally, the Methodist men's golf program has been featured in national publications such as Sports Illustrated and Golfweek.

Located on the Methodist University campus is a private 18-hole golf course near the Cape Fear River, a 17-acre driving range with 50+ stations (eight covered), and three short-game practice areas.
