September 25, 2007 SENECA, SC – The Methodist men's golf team teed off Monday in their first tournament of the year at the Jack Shadwick Invitational. The Monarchs placed second amongst the 19 teams with a score of 587 (293-294), eleven strokes behind first place finisher North Greenville University with a 576. Senior Nick Bova (72-74) and junior Matt Bova (77-69) tied for eighth overall to lead the Monarchs with a 146. Junior Trey Howell shot a 147 (70-77) to tie for 11th in the tournament. Junior Jake Pleczkowski finished with a 149 (74-75) while senior Devin Gee shot a 153 (77-76). The team will compete in the Greensboro Invitational Oct. 1-2.
