![]() Monarchs close fall season with second place finish at Jack Shadwick Invitational SENECA, S.C. – The Methodist Monarch men’s golf team closed out the 2005 fall season on Tuesday with a second place finish at the Jack Shadwick Invitational at the Cross Creek Plantation. Methodist shot a 302 in some more harsh conditions on Tuesday and finished with a 606 for the two-round tournament. Methodist finished six strokes behind team champion Oglethorpe. Southeastern finished third with a 613, followed by LaGrange with a 615. Huntingdon and Southern Wesleyan rounded out the top five tied for fifth at 617 in the 18-team field. Individually for Methodist, both Cory Schneider (73-76) and Adam Horton (75-74) shot at 149 and finished one stroke off the lead. Huntingdon’s Bobby Gillespie and Oglethorpe’s Matt Sugett and Taylor Urbanski both finished with 147 and played in a scorecard playoff. Nick Bova finished with a 154 for Methodist, while Brant Dixon shot a 158 (79-79) and Josh Hart shot a 167 (80-87). |
