Monarchs storm back to win Jekyll Island Invite Horton wins fifth individual title JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – After trailing by five strokes after the first round of competition at the Jekyll Island Invite, the Monarchs men's golf team came back to take home the tournament championship. Adam Horton also took home his fifth individual title shooting a 5 under par 211. Twenty four teams competed in the tournament at the Oleander, a par 72, 6521 yard course. The Monarchs shot a daily low 294 on Saturday to take the lead going into round three. Otterbein, who finished in second place, got out to a blistering start on the front nine on Sunday, but the Monarchs fought back to win going away by nine strokes. Adam Horton won the tournament shooting steady rounds of 69, 72, and 70. He fought off Matt Collins from Otterbein who shot a final round 66. Collins had a 29 at the turn, but Horton did not waiver and won the title on the back nine. Nick Bova also finished one
under par in fourth place and Cory Schneider finished one
over par in seventh place. Brant Dixon finished tied
for 31st and Justin Tulk finished in 34th for the Monarchs.
