Monarchs Open National Championship at Prairie View
Matt Bova leads the team with a 77 in the first round

FISHERS, IN – Methodist University teed off the first round of the NCAA Division III National Championship on Tuesday.  The tournament takes place on two courses with the Monarchs beginning on the Prairie View Course.  After day one, the Monarchs shot a 325 to sit in 28th place.

Matt Bova led the team with a 77 while Jake Pleczkowski and Trey Howell both shot an 81.  Nick Bova came in with an 86 while Josh Speight shot an 87.  The Monarchs will look to shave some strokes on Wednesday to cut into the lead.  Rhodes College is in first place with a 299.

Methodist fans can follow all of the action on GolfStat as the tournament continues this week with the final round played on Friday.
