May 13, 2008 BRASELTON, GA– The Methodist men's golf team teed off in round one of the NCAA Championships on Tuesday. The Monarchs tied for ninth amongst the 35 teams with a 311 at the Chateau Elan Resort. Leading the field is the University of La Verne with a 291. Junior Jake Pleczkowski and sophomore Josh Schrader tied for 29th with a 76 on the par 71 course. Junior Matt Bova is tied for 44th at 77 while junior Tom Cooper shot an 82 to tie for 99th. Senior Nick Bova shot an 84 on the day. The tournament will continue tomorrow with the second round. |
