Men's Soccer Dominates Chowan
Goals by Monteiro, Umoh and Miller lead Monarchs to win

MURFREESBORO, NC-  The men's soccer team traveled to Chown University to take on the Hawks and finished the day with a 3-0 win.  The Monarchs move to 6-1 on the season while Chowan falls to 0-6.

Sophomore Evan Monteiro started things off with an unassisted goal to get the Monarchs on the board.  The score remained 1-0 at halftime.  In the second half, Ime Umoh scored his sixth goal of the season assisted by Brandon Cunningham on a header past the Chowan goalkeeper. 

Freshman Hunter Miller finished things off with a shot from 35 yards out assisted by Piero Taliente.  The Monarchs dominated the Hawks with 35 shots to their 7.  Jeremy Belnap and Sean Brennan shared time in goal combining for 4 saves.  Chowan goalkeeper Daniel Callahan made 15 saves.

The Monarchs will travel to Piedmont to face the Lions at 3 pm on Sunday.
