Captains end Monarchs' 10 game winning streak

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The Monarchs knew they would have to fight for a conference championship, but the referees put a stop to it handing out eight cards in the game.  The Captains were able to put a stop to the Monarchs 10 game winning streak that started September 3rd.  Methodist falls to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in the USA South while Christopher Newport moves to 9-4 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

Methodist struggled to get any offense going mustering only one shot in the game.  Christopher Newport dominated with 15 shots, 12 of them on goal.  Galen Small scored the first Captains' goal off of a direct kick while the second and fourth were penalty kicks as the result of fouls in the box.  Daniel Fogarty and Bryan Davis converted the kicks.  Jimmy Majewski scored the third goal off of a deflection in the box.  Monarch goalkeeper Jeremy Belnap finished with 8 saves while
