Methodist
Monarch
men’s
soccer
team
sent
their
seniors
out in
style
with a
3-0
victory
over
Ferrum
at
Monarch
Soccerplex.
Methodist
seniors
Adam
Sippy,
Andrew
Neff,
Kevin
Gray,
Marlon
Pinnock
and
Gregg
Cohen
played
their
final
games at
Monarch
Soccerplex.
In turn,
the
Monarchs
ended a
three-game
losing
streak
to
improve
to
6-10-1
and 3-2
in the
USA
South
Athletic
Conference.
Sippy
scored
twice
for the
Monarchs,
including
the
game’s
first
goal
less
than
five
minutes
into the
contest.
Sippy
scored
on a
cross
pass
from
Andy
White in
the
fourth
minute
to give
the
Monarchs
a 1-0
lead.
The
scored
stayed
that
until
the 37th
minute
when
Evan
Monteiro
scored
on a
breakaway
off an
assist
by Sean
Gregory.
Two
minutes
later,
Sippy
scored
again in
front of
the goal
off a
cross
from
Gregory.
Methodist
goalkeeper
Jeremy
Belnap
recorded
the
shutout
with two
saves.
Ryan
Schilling
recorded
five
saves
for
Ferrum
(13-6,
2-4).
Methodist
closes
out the
regular
season
on
Sunday
at 7
p.m. at
Christopher
Newport.
