October 13, 2007 WASHINGTON, DC- The Monarchs traveled up to Washington, D.C. to take on the Gallaudet Bison on Saturday. The Monarchs rode a 4-0 halftime lead to a 5-0 win. The Monarchs move to 9-6 overall while Gallaudet stands at 0-14 this season. Senior Dustin Breckenridge gave Methodist a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute of play before senior C.J. Komons followed up with a goal less than three minutes later. Senior Andy White buried a penalty kick in the 25th minute. Sophomore Bret Brennan slipped another one in before halftime with the assist from freshman Alex Johnston. Gallaudet held Methodist scoreless through most of the second half until freshman Pedro Massinga scored in the 84th minute to cap off the 5-0 win. Methodist maintained a 31-3 shot advantage with senior Sean Brennan and freshman Matt Griffith combining in goal for the shutout. Methodist will host Randolph-Macon Saturday at 3:30 in conjunction with the Methodist University Homecoming festivities. |
