Greensboro Defeats Monarchs 1-0
Sophomore Evan Monteiro had 4 shots in the loss

GREENSBORO, NC-  The Monarchs out shot the Pride 14-10, but Greensboro was able to finish and win the game 1-0.  The Monarchs move to 12-4-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the USA South while Greensboro moves to 8-8-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the conference.

Freshman Dan Ohmott started in goal and had 2 stops for the Monarchs while sophomore Evan Monteiro led the offense with 4 shots.  The Monarchs had chances on goal, but Pride goalkeeper Kurt Gardiner made five saves and preserved the shutout.  Mike Ezarsky scored the Pride's game-winning goal on a header off of a free kick from David Vogt in the 57th minute of play.  Greensboro held on for the win and clinched third place in the conference.

The Monarchs will travel to Ferrum on Saturday to finish regular season play against the Panthers at 3 pm.
