Men's Soccer Comes From Behind to Defeat Guilford 3-2
Sophomore Bret Brennan scores second hat trick of the season

GREENSBORO, NC-  The Monarchs scored first but Guilford took a 2-1 lead before Methodist came back to win 3-2. Methodist improves to 5-0 on the year while Guilford falls to 2-4 this season.

Sophomore Bret Brennan gave the Monarchs a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute of play on a rebound inside the six yard box. Guilford tied the game just nine minutes later for a 1-1 halftime score. Seven minutes into the second half, Guilford took a 2-1 lead, but Brennan tied the game again on a 25-yard shot with the assist from junior Max Adler. Brennan capitalized on a defensive misplay to score the game-winner in the 69th minute.

The Monarchs outshot the Quakers 14-13 while Guilford held a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks. Senior Sean Brennan and freshman Brock Ferguson combined for four saves for Methodist. Patrick Childs made four saves for Guilford.

The Monarchs travel to Texas this weekend to face Trinity on Friday at 7 pm.
