September 11, 2007 GREENSBORO, NC- The Monarchs scored first but Guilford took a 2-1 lead before Methodist came back to win 3-2. Methodist improves to 5-0 on the year while Guilford falls to 2-4 this season. Sophomore Bret Brennan gave the Monarchs a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute of play on a rebound inside the six yard box. Guilford tied the game just nine minutes later for a 1-1 halftime score. Seven minutes into the second half, Guilford took a 2-1 lead, but Brennan tied the game again on a 25-yard shot with the assist from junior Max Adler. Brennan capitalized on a defensive misplay to score the game-winner in the 69th minute. The Monarchs outshot the Quakers 14-13 while Guilford held a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks. Senior Sean Brennan and freshman Brock Ferguson combined for four saves for Methodist. Patrick Childs made four saves for Guilford.
