Monarchs' Offense Too Much for Huntingdon
Three different players score to win 3-0

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  After losing their opening game to York College, the men's soccer team has gone on a 4-game winning streak over the past two weeks.  This afternoon the Monarchs took on Huntingdon College out of Alabama to win 3-0 during the first day of the Monarch invitational.

Sophomore Sean Gregory opened the scoring by hitting the upper right corner of the goal less than 4 minutes into the game.  The half ended with Methodist leading 1-0 but they were dominating with 11 shots to Huntingdon's 5.  The Monarchs came back in the second to score two more with goals by freshman Bret Brennan and junior Desmond Keane.

The Monarchs finished with 28 shots, 17 of them on goal.  Monarch goalkeeper Jeremy Belnap registered 4 saves for the day.

In the first game of the Invitational, Christopher Newport defeated Villa Julie College 5-0.  Christopher Newport will take on Huntingdon Sunday at 2 pm before the Monarchs return at 4 to face the Villa Julie Mustangs.
