The
Methodist men's soccer program has been a long-standing tradition
in the rich history of Methodist athletics . Methodist men's soccer
has produced eight All-Americans, 38 All-South selections, 117 All-Conference
selections, and nine professional players worldwide. Under former
head coach Alan Dawson, the Monarchs were the 1995 NCAA Division III
National Runner-up and have advanced to the NCAA tournament six times
in the 1990s. The Monarchs also held eight consecutive Dixie Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference Conference titles from 1989-1996.
With Dawson understudy and former standout goalkeeper Justin Terranova
back at Methodist as head coach, the Monarchs are making tremendous
strides at returning to a perennial power both in the USA South Athletic
Conference and on a national level.
The Methodist University men's soccer program boasts a long list of
individual and team accomplishments and has a winning tradition that
is envied by many. Our team’s home is the "Crown Jewel"
of NCAA Division III — Monarch Soccerplex — a soccer facility that
is unrivaled in the country. The Monarch soccer offices are located
on the touchline of our pristine Bermuda grass playing surface. The
two-story building houses home and visiting team locker rooms, referee
changing facilities, an enclosed press box, and public restrooms.
In addition, there is a $1.5 million, eight-field soccer complex on
the Methodist campus that is ideal for training.
