Monarchs Score Two to Defeat Lynchburg
Phillip Clause scores both for the win

MURFREESBORO, NC-  Lynchburg dominated the game with 21 shots to Methodist's 7, but the Monarchs' efficiency helped them come out with the 2-0 win.  Lynchburg is ranked 9th in the South region while the Monarchs are ranked 6th.  The Monarchs move to 10-1 on the season while Lynchburg falls to 5-4-2.

Phillip Clause started things off in the 36th minute with an assist from James Gunderson.  The half ended with the Monarchs leading 1-0 before Clause came back in the second to score his second goal of the game in the 54th minute.  Lynchburg managed 11 shots in the second half, but with only one on goal, Methodist goalkeeper Jeremy Belnap made the save.  Belnap finished the game with two saves.

The Monarchs will return home to face Christopher Newport on Saturday at 2:30 pm.
