N.C. Wesleyan Knocks Off Methodist 2-0
Senior goalkeeper Sean Brennan made five stops in the game

ROCKY MOUNT, NC-  The Methodist men's soccer team traveled to Rocky Mount on Saturday to take on the 9th ranked N.C. Wesleyan Bishops. The Monarchs registered eight shots with three on goal, but the Bishops prevailed 2-0. Methodist moves to 7-4 on the year and 1-1 in the conference while N.C. Wesleyan improves to 10-0 this season and 2-0 in the USA South.

N.C. Wesleyan scored their first goal of the game on a header from Jason Bottani from Kevin Lue's cross from the left side in the 13th minute. The Bishops struck again on a 15-yard free kick from Marco Kirsch to Edgar Zaldivar at the 15:10 mark. Methodist held the Bishops for the remainder of the game, but couldn't find the back of the net. N.C. Wesleyan held on for the 2-0 win.

The Bishops out shot Methodist 18-8. Methodist goalkeeper Sean Brennan made five saves while Alberto Faisca had three stops for N.C. Wesleyan.

The Monarchs will take on Christopher Newport Oct. 6 at 7 pm in Newport New, Va.
