Monarchs Hold On for 3-2 Win Against Piedmont
Bret Brennan, Andy White and Chris MacDonald scored in the first half for the win

DEMOREST, GA-  The Monarchs started early with a 3-0 lead in the first half against the Piedmont Lions.  The Lions came back in the second to score two, but the Monarchs held on for the 3-2 win.  Methodist moves to 7-1 on the season while Piedmont sits at 5-5.

Freshman Bret Brennan struck first for the Monarchs with an assist from junior CJ Komons in the 12th minute.  Junior Andy White followed suit in the 34th minute before Chris MacDonald knocked one in to give the Monarchs their 3 goal lead.  Freshman Phillip Clause assisted both White and MacDonald's goals.  Drew Griffin and George Sandi scored for Piedmont in the second half, but the Lions could not find a game-tying goal.

Monarch goalkeeper Jeremy Belnap finished with 8 saves. 

The Monarchs will play LaGrange Monday at 4 pm.
