Monarchs Come From Behind to Defeat Randolph 2-1
Senior Desmond Keane ties the game off of a corner kick

ROCKY MOUNT, NC-  Randolph College opened the scoring in the ninth minute of play, but the Monarchs would counter with two goals to earn their second win of the season. Both host N.C. Wesleyan and Methodist finished 2-0 in the N.C. Wesleyan Fall Classic. The Monarchs move to 2-0 on the season while Randolph falls to 0-2.

Randolph found the net early, but Methodist dominated the game with 20 shots to Randolph's five. Senior Desmond Keane evened the score in the 17th minute off on a one-time touch from the corner with the assist going to sophomore Bret Brennan. The score remained tied 1-1 at halftime, but Brennan scored the go-ahead goal on a header off of junior Jamie Gunderson's cross in the 58th minute.

The Monarchs secured the 2-1 victory with senior Sean Brennan earning the win in goal. He registered one save in the victory.

Methodist travels to the Doug Hamilton Memorial Tournament at Greensboro College next weekend. The Monarchs are scheduled to face Oglethorpe on Saturday at 12 pm.
