October 20, 2007 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- Methodist used two goals in the first half to cruise to a 2-0 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday. With the win, the Monarchs move to 10-6 overall while Randolph-Macon drops to 7-9 this year. Senior Dustin Breckenridge gave the Monarchs the game-winner on volley shot in the 15th minute of play to give Methodist a 1-0 lead. Junior Evan Monteiro added an insurance goal in the 30th minute of play on the assist from sophomore Bret Brennan. Methodist out shot Randolph-Macon 12-7 with the Monarchs' goalkeeper Sean Brennan earning five saves on the day. Colin Royster had seven saves for the Yellow Jackets. Methodist will host Greensboro Thursday at 3 pm. |
