October 11, 2006 Forward Andy
White took on the keeper early and slotted it
past him far post for the first goal of the
game. The referees were calling the game
tight and in the 43rd minute St. Mary's received
a red card forcing them to play a man down the
remainder of the game. The Monarchs were
leading 1-0 at halftime and came back in the
second with renewed offense. In the 57th
minute, The Monarchs seemed to dominate possession, but were outshot 10 to 7. Methodist goalkeeper Jeremy Belnap made 5 saves while St. Mary's keeper Rick Besore had 1. The Monarchs will host Shenandoah on Saturday, October 14th at 12 pm. The conference game will mark the last home game for four Methodist seniors.
