Methodist’s
White,
Gregory
sweep
weekly
USA
South
men’s
soccer
honors
FAYETTEVILLE,
N.C. –
The USA
South
Athletic
Conference
issued
its
weekly
honors
for
men’s
soccer
on
Monday,
and the
Methodist
Monarchs
swept
both
honors.
Andy
White
was
selected
USA
South
Player
of the
Week,
while
Sean
Gregory
was
honored
as USA
South
Rookie
of the
Week.
It marks
the
first
time
this
2005
season
that
Methodist
has been
represented
in the
USA
South
weekly
honors
for
men’s
soccer.
Both
players
had
tremendous
games in
Methodist’s
convincing
11-0
shutout
over
Chowan
last
Thursday.
White, a
sophomore
from
Sayville,
N.Y.,
recorded
a hat
trick,
scoring
all
three of
his
goals in
the
first
half, in
addition
to an
assist.
Gregory,
a
freshman
from
Georgetown,
Tex.,
scored
two
goals
and
added an
assist
in the
rout.
For
the
season,
White is
tied for
fourth
in the
USA
South in
goals
scored
with
five and
tied for
ninth in
points
with 11.
Gregory
is tied
for 10th
in goals
scored
in the
conference
with
four.
Methodist
(3-6-1)
plays
next on
Wednesday
at 4
p.m. at
Hampden-Sydney.
