Monarch Offense Blows By Warren Wilson
Giunti and Monteiro each score two in 6-0 win

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  It took the Monarchs some time to open the floodgates, but they didn't stop until they beat Warren Wilson 6-0 during the first day of the Methodist Innkeeper Classic.  Goals were scored by Jamie Gunderson, David Giunti, Evan Monteiro and Chris MacDonald.

Warren Wilson was only able to muster three shots during the entire game in contrast to the Methodist's 34 shots.  Gunderson and Giunti scored in the first half to lead 2-0 at halftime.  The Monarchs returned in the second to score four unanswered goals.  Monteiro scored two a minute apart, Giunti scored his second and Chris MacDonald topped things off with the sixth goal.

Goalkeepers Jeremy Belnap and Mike Fiore split time in the net to finish with two saves on the day.

In the second game, North Carolina Wesleyan beat Southwestern 2-1.  The Monarchs move to 2-1 for the 2006 season and will face Southwestern at 4 pm Sunday to conclude the Methodist Innkeeper Classic.
