Monarchs' Top Six Named to All-Conference Teams
Junior Chris Fletcher receives first team honors

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for men's tennis.  A total of 18 student-athletes have been named to the USA South All-Conference teams for men's tennis.  Six Methodist student-athletes were honored with All-Conference awards.

Junior Chris Fletcher is a First Team selection after going 5-5 this season at number one singles including a shutout 6-0, 6-0 win over Christopher Newport's Eddie Glidewell.  Fletcher also went 6-7 at doubles for the Monarchs.

On the second team for Methodist is freshman Andrew Freeman along with senior David Hardy.  As a rookie, Freeman played at one through four singles finishing 8-5 on the season while Hardy went 6-8 in his senior season.  Hardy and Freeman combined to go 5-9 at doubles including a 4-0 run through the USA South.

Honorable mention selections for the Monarchs are senior Mike Layton, junior Louis Cisti, and junior Matthew Siegel.  Layton and Siegel combined to go 4-0 in the conference at doubles while Cisti swept the USA South competition 5-0 in singles.  Siegel also went undefeated in singles at 5-0.

The Monarchs will compete in the USA South Conference Tournament from April 13-15 in Burlington, NC with their first match scheduled against Ferrum at 9 am on Friday.
