Methodist Wins Third Straight
Sophomore Dylan Knox won at singles and doubles

DANVILLE, VA- The Monarchs went 3-0 in doubles again as they cruised to the 7-2 victory over Averett on Saturday. Methodist moves to 3-5 overall and 2-0 in the USA South while Averett drops to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Methodist started with three wins at doubles for the third straight match carrying them to their third consecutive match win. Senior Chris Fletcher and freshman Matthew Taylor won 8-6 at number one while freshman Tariq Sheikh and sophomore Jarrod Bogard also won 8-6. Sophomore Dylan Knox and junior Rob Currier took the 8-2 win at number three.

Bogard picked up the shutout 6-0, 6-0 at number five singles. Fletcher took the 6-3, 6-3 win at number one and Knox won 6-1, 6-0 at number four. Sophomore Neil Perron fought off the number six singles 6-2, 7-5 while Sheikh lost 6-4, 6-0 at number two. Taylor was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at number three.

Methodist will host Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
