Monarchs Defeat Coker 6-3
Matthew Siegel and Mike Layton combine to win their doubles match 8-0

HARTSVILLE, SC-  The men's tennis team notched their first win of the season with a 6-3 win over Coker College.  The Monarchs improve to 1-2 overall while Coker falls to 2-5 this season.

Methodist won four of the six singles matches from junior Chris Fletcher (No. 1), freshman Andrew Freeman (No. 4), junior Louis Cisti (No. 5), and junior Matthew Siegel (No. 6).  Chris Fletcher and freshman Andrew Fletcher combined to win the first doubles match before Siegel and senior Mike Layton won the third doubles match. 

The team's match against Shenandoah scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.
