March 16, 2008 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- Methodist hosted Dickinson College in their first home match of the season but were defeated 7-2. The Monarchs move to 1-4 this season while Dickinson advances to 3-3 overall. Senior Chris Fletcher and freshman Matthew Taylor won the number one doubles match 8-1, but freshman Tariq Sheikh and sophomore Jarrod Bogard lost 8-3 at number two while junior Rob Currier and sophomore Dylan Knox lost 8-3 at number three. Fletcher won the second match for Methodist with a 6-1, 6-0 win at number one singles. At number two, Sheikh lost 6-0, 6-1 while Taylor lost 6-4, 6-1 at number three. Knox fell 6-0, 6-0 at number four. Bogard and sophomore Neil Perron each lost 6-3, 6-1 at five and six singles respectively. Methodist will host Greensboro on Tuesday at 3 pm. |
