March 29, 2008 FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The Monarchs used a 3-0 sweep at doubles to cruise to a 9-0 win over the Ferrum Panthers. Methodist moves to 4-6 overall and 3-0 in the USA South while Ferrum drops to 2-7 overall and 1-1 in the conference this season. Senior Chris Fletcher and freshman Matthew Taylor held off 8-5 at number one doubles for the win while freshman Tariq Sheikh and sophomore Jarrod Bogard won 8-2 at number two. Sophomore Dylan Knox and junior Rob Currier won 8-0 at number three doubles. Knox won the 6-0, 6-0 shutout at number four singles while Fletcher took number one 6-2, 6-0. Sheikh won 6-2, 6-0 at number two and Taylor won 6-1, 6-1 at number three. Bogard also won 6-1, 6-1 while playing number five and freshman Justin Campbell won the number six match 6-2, 6-0. Methodist will host Shenandoah Apr. 6 at 10 am. |
