Methodist Opens With Win Over Ferrum
Junior Louis Cisti gets the shutout at number five singles

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The men's tennis team opened with a 9-0 win over Ferrum on Friday morning.  The Monarchs improve to 9-8 overall while Ferrum finishes 5-16 on the season.

The Monarchs started with a 3-0 lead with the sweep at doubles.  The Monarchs kept the winning theme alive with six wins at singles.  Junior Chris Fletcher (No. 1), senior Mike Layton (No. 2), freshman Andrew Freeman (No. 3), senior David Hardy (No. 4), junior Louis Cisti (No. 5), and junior Matthew Siegel (No. 6) all recorded victories for Methodist.

The Monarchs advance to the semifinals on Saturday at 10 am against Christopher Newport.
