Men's Tennis Travels to ITA Regionals
Chris Fletcher and Mike Layton make it to the top eight in doubles competition

SEWANEE, TN-  The men's tennis team traveled to the University of the South in Sewanee, TN last weekend to compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Region Championships.  Junior Chris Fletcher made it to the final four in the singles competition and combined with senior Mike Layton in the doubles to compete with the top eight.

Fletcher defeated Ryan Noel from Mississippi College, Daniel Hammond of Rhodes, Lee Friedman of Emory and Mike Robertson of Piedmont before falling to the Mark Boren from Emory in his final match 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.  Boren lost to Michael Goodwin from Emory in the singles championship.

Fletcher and Layton defeated Benfield and Zurowski from Greensboro and Friedman and Sturman from Emory in doubles.  With only eight teams remaining, they lost 8-6 to Mansur and Bayer from Rhodes.

The men's fall competition season comes to a close, but will return at NC Wesleyan February 21st.
