Oglethorpe Defeats Men's Tennis 5-4
Senior Chris Fletcher earns 7-5, 6-1 win at singles

ATLANTA, GA-  The Monarchs started spring break with a 5-4 loss to Oglethorpe on Saturday. Methodist moves to 0-2 this season while Oglethorpe is 2-0 overall.

Methodist started with a 2-1 lead in doubles competition. Senior Chris Fletcher and freshman Matthew Taylor won 8-2 at number one doubles while sophomore Jarrod Bogard and freshman Tariq Sheik lost at number two 8-3. Junior Rob Currier and sophomore Dylan Knox won 8-5 at number three.

Fletcher won 7-5, 6-1 at number one singles while Knox won 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 at number four, but Oglethorpe won the four remaining singles matches to secure the 5-4 win. Sheikh lost 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 at number two while Taylor fell 6-0, 6-1 at number three. Bogard lost 6-0, 4-6, 6-2 at number five while Currier lost 6-2, 6-1 at number six.

The Monarchs travel to the University of the South Sunday for a 2 pm match.
