Monarchs travel to NCAA regional as a #1 seed
Methodist takes 38-6 record to Salisbury, Maryland

 

FAYETTEVILLE, NC-  The NCAA announced Sunday night the championship field for this years division III softball championship.  Methodist, currently ranked #9 in the nation, will compete as one of the eight #1 seeds in the eight regional tournaments set to begin on Thursday.

 

Fifty-nine teams made the national field and the eight winners of each regional will compete in Raleigh, NC in the World Series.

 

The Monarchs will travel to Salisbury, Maryland and will play the winner of #4 Moravian (33-7) and #7 Haverford (24-15) in their first game of the double-elimination tournament at 4 pm on Thursday afternoon.  Host Salisbury (32-6), the #2 seed in the regional, lost the national championship game last season.  Other teams in Methodist's regional include #3 Ramapo (32-12), #5 King's (36-7), and #6 Neumann (25-9).
