Talbert Honored as USA South Athletes of the Week
Methodist student-athlete receives weekly conference honors

FAYETTEVILLE, NC- The USA South has announced their athletes of the week. The conference gives an award for Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for each sport active during the week.

Kayla Talbert has been named the USA South Softball Player of the Week. The junior third baseman from Winston-Salem, North Carolina hit .579 (11-for-19) with 11 RBI, seven runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and two walks as the Monarchs went 6-0 last week. In a doubleheader sweep of Swarthmore, Talbert was a combined 3-for-5 with three RBI, a double and a walk. In four contests at the Ferrum College Invitation, which featured wins over Peace, Shenandoah and Eastern Mennonite, Talbert was a combined 8-for-14 with eight RBI, seven runs scored, two home runs, a walk and a double.
