Monarchs Named to NFCA All-Region Team
Rebekah Kelly and Kayla Talbert honored with first and second team honors respectively

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - First team honors were widely distributed among teams in all eight regions as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region teams Tuesday.

Senior outfielder Rebekah Kelly earned her second consecutive All-Atlantic first team nod by the NFCA. Kelly has played in every game this season while batting .418 on the year. She paces the team with 40 runs scored and has also tallied 28 RBI. Earlier this season she set the Methodist and USA South record for triples in a season with 10.

Junior third baseman Kayla Talbert received second team honors this season. Talbert led the team in hitting with a .434 batting average and racked up 44 RBI.

Both players will look to help their team in the NCAA First Round Tournament May 8-11 on the campus of Methodist University.
