May 29, 2008 GREENSBORO, N.C. – Eleven student-athletes, representing six different schools, comprise the 2008 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Softball Team released Wednesday. The fifth-annual team consists of non-NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities. North Carolina sports information professionals submitted the nominees and NCCSIA members voted for the all-state teams, which consist of two starting pitchers, one catcher, four infielders, three outfielders and one designated player. Junior Kayla Talbert and senior Rebekah Kelly represented the Monarchs on this year's All-State squad. Outfielder Rebekah Kelly earned her second consecutive All-State selection. Kelly played in every game this season while batting .404 on the year. She paced the team with 41 runs scored and has also tallied 29 RBI. Earlier this season she set the Methodist and USA South record for triples in a season with 10. Third baseman Kayla Talbert led the team in hitting with a .420 batting average and racked up 44 RBI to go along with a team-high four home runs. Founded

professionals from North Carolina’s
NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent
institutions for the purpose of promoting
college athletics in the state. Membership
is open to anyone affiliated with a college,
university or conference located in North
Carolina whose responsibilities include sports
