April 18, 2008 BURLINGTON, N.C. - Third-seeded Methodist University rallied from a two-run deficit Friday morning to down No. 6 Ferrum 6-3 in the first round of the USA South Conference softball Tournament at Springwood Park. The victory sends the No. 21 in the nation Monarchs (33-8) into the winner's bracket semi-finals against the winner of the No. 2 CNU vs No. 7 NC Wesleyan game. Stutts got a fielder's choice and a groundout to short to secure the victory and her third save of the spring. Stutts saved it for Emily Beck (7-4), who allowed three runs (two earned) on 10 hits and one walk in 6.1 innings. She struck out three. Freshman Katie Duff (7-9) went the distance for FC.
