Kelly Receives All-American Honors
Junior named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-America Second Team

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Fayetteville native, Rebekah Kelly has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-America Second Team for her outstanding play during the 2007 season.  Named the USA South Player of the Year last month, Kelly finished the season with a .462 batting average to lead the team.

Kelly was a key component leading the Monarchs to consecutive Conference Tournament Championships and NCAA appearances.  She led the team in hits, runs scored, doubles, triples, home runs (tied), and stolen bases while playing catcher and center field.  At the conclusion of the USA South Tournament, Kelly was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts.

Kelly's All-American nod returns the Monarchs to national prominence since former Methodist player Adrienne Acosta receive third team honors in 2005.  Kristen Wallace receive first team honors in 2002 and third team honors in 2003.

Kelly returns along with a team that loses just four seniors from a 33-10 record in 2007 hoping to extend their postseason run next year.
