Athletic Department Announces Scholar Athletes of
the Year
Stephen Fox and Sara Poling honored with highest academic
honors
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.-
Each year, the Methodist Department of Athletics honors
the male and female student-athletes with the highest
cumulative grade point average. Men's soccer player,
Stephen Fox will receive the Male Scholar Athlete of
the Year award. Softball player Sara Poling has
been named the Female Scholar Athletes of the Year for
the second consecutive year. release

Senior Rebekah Kelly hit 3-for-4 in game one for Methodist
NEWPORT NEWS, VA- Christopher Newport jumped out to
an early lead and went on to win both games of a doubleheader
over the Monarchs on Sunday. Methodist made a late rally
in the bottom of the seventh in game one but came up
short 6-5 and then lost 3-1 in game two. The Monarchs
move to 32-8 overall and 14-4 in the USA South while
Christopher Newport is 28-8-1 overall and 13-3-1 in

USA South Conference office released the preseason polls
today for the remaining spring sports. Baseball
was released earlier this month. The polls are
based on votes from each conference member's head coach
