| #7 Neumann Powers Past #2 Christopher Newport FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Neumann started things off with two runs in the second inning after Danielle Hayes and Samantha Duncan drew back to back walks. Christopher Newport recorded the second out, but Sheila Munson hit a double to the fence in left field to score both runners. In the third inning, Lauren Gallagher led off with the walk and Caitlin Hanarhan reached on an error. Angela Sebasto hit a triple to the gap in right center for both runners to score and give Neumann the 4-0 lead. Christopher Newport cut into the lead with two runs in the fifth after a bases loaded single to center field from Taylor Morgan. Ashley Mani and Megan Morris scored on the play for the Captains. Neumann responded with a run in the top of the sixth on a bases loaded single from pinch hitter Audrie Porter to secure the 5-2 victory. Angela Sebasto earned the complete game win for the Knights scattering seven hits with three strikeouts. Christopher Newport’s Janet Fairchild took the loss in 2.0 innings while Lindsay Kelly and Kristen Bruce entered in relief.
