| #1 Lynchburg Wins 2-1 Over #7 Neumann in Extra Innings FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Lynchburg started things off with a leadoff single in the top of the first by Brittany Allsop. She was sacrificed to third and scored on Elizabeth Perkins sacrifice fly. The Neumann Knights came back and tied the game in the bottom of the inning after a leadoff walk and a sacrifice bunt. Jennifer Goslin’s double down the left field line scored the tying run. Tied after seven, the game went to extra innings and it was Lynchburg who scored first after Audra Della Rosa led off with a single to right center field. Perkins sacrificed her to second and Della Rosa advanced to third on a ground out. Dara Sandifer’s double to shallow left field scored Della Rosa for the eventual game-winning run. Katie Bruce picked up the win for the Hornets giving up just two hits with three strikeouts. Angela Sebasto took the loss in the complete game.
