Ranked No. 23 in NFCA Weekly Poll
Monarchs
start the season 7-3 through the first two weeks
of the season
FAYETTEVILLE, NC-
The newest Division III poll by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association
ranks the Methodist Monarchs as No.
23 in the country. The Monarchs are 7-3 so
far this season heading into the NFCA Leadoff
Classic this weekend.
In the first
ten games, the Monarchs are led by junior
Rebekah Kelly batting .455 with two home runs
and six RBI. Sophomore Lesley Hewitt led
the Monarchs with a no-hitter against defending
national champions Rutgers-Camden on the way to
3-1 record thus far. Freshman pitcher
Emily Beck carries a 1.00 ERA with a 4-2 record.
The Monarchs
will compete in the NFCA Leadoff Classic against
Mt. Union and Webster on Friday before a rematch
with Rutgers-Camden is set up for Saturday.
